Domestic Abuse (including MARAC)

In December 2024, information about Stalking Protection Orders was added to Section 3, Specialist Domestic Abuse Services and Support. Information about the timeframe for introduction of Domestic Abuse Protection Orders and Domestic Abuse Protection Notices was also updated.

Radicalisation and Violent Extremism

In December 2024, a link to Prevent duty: guidance for healthcare professionals was added to Section 4, Prevent, the Prevent Duty and Channel, and to Section 6, Further Information and Guidance.

LeDeR Reviews

In December 2024, a link to the LeDeR online referral was added.

June 2024

Forced Marriage

In June 2024 the chapter Honour Based Violence and Forced Marriage’ has been replaced by two new chapters, ‘Honour Based Abuse’ and ‘Forced Marriage’.

Radicalisation and Violent Extremism

In June 2024, this chapter has been replaced with a revised and updated version.

County Lines

In June 2024, this chapter was fully reviewed and refreshed in line with updated Home Office guidance ‘Criminal exploitation of children and vulnerable adults: county lines’.

Honour Based Abuse

In June 2024 Honour Based Violence and Forced Marriage’ was replaced by two new chapters, ‘Honour Based Abuse’ and ‘Forced Marriage’.

Cuckooing (Forced Home Invasion)

In June 2024, this new chapter has been added to the Safeguarding Adults Additional Practice Guidance section.

Mate Crime

In June 2024, this chapter was renamed ‘Mate Crime’. It has been fully reviewed and refreshed. Information about cuckooing (also known as forced home invasion) has been relocated to a new chapter.

Modern Slavery

In June 2024 this replacement chapter has been added to the 4LSAB and SSAB Practice Guidance.

Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SAR)

In June 2024, a new section was added ‘Safeguarding Adult Reviews in Rapid Time (SARiRT)’.

Domestic Abuse (including MARAC)

In June 2024, the text ‘she is’ in Section 4, MARAC was altered to ‘they are’ to ensure that no gender assumptions are made.

Fabricated or Induced Illness in Adults

In June 2024, text amends were made to reflect feedback from multi-agency partners. Information was also added about false allegations against family members to Section 4, Raising a Concern and the Safeguarding Response.
